a random blessing

Tonight my wife and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary. We invited my parents to go to eat and then to the Mean Green basketball game with us and the kids. Dinner was great and my cousin, who also just graduated from UNT, was able to be our server and it was really nice seeing him. Wife and I are very blessed in that our children do behave very well in public places. Tonight was no exception and they were pretty quiet and did not misbehave. An older couple sitting beside us came up to wife and I during dinner and thanked us for our kid's behavior and they said that they were very impressed with how the 4 little ones acted. It was a great compliment and wife and I are very proud of our children. The greater compliment was that after the older woman finished speaking, her husband came over and handed me a $100 bill as a gift for the kid's savings. I couldn't believe it and I was very very humbled. What a random blessing from a very generous couple. Right after that, I turned to wife and said..."that's what we are going to do as soon as we can." I can't wait to have the financial freedom that we can give so unconditionally as that couple. There's no telling what their story is/was, but praise God for them and I pray that they will be blessed in return.

Dude,
First of all your posts are extremely funny!!!
Second, when I was about to have my fourth - just a few months ago - my husband was helping me to buy groceries at Sam's. Needless to say with 20 gallons of milk in my cart plus more on top of that I could not push that thing around the store let alone make it to the car. Anyway, long story short this nice lady buys all of my kids an ice cream cone because they were so well behaved. Awesome!!! Congrats on your anniversary. I will celebrate # 11 this year and it is wonderful.
God Bless You,
Heather R.

....and that is why you WILL have money someday...because of your humble heart. AWESOME STORY! Our kids are acting up a little lately. The youngest is a workout right now. What is your secret?

thanks for the comment. We really don't have a secret...the kids know that they have two choices...one leads to living longer and the other one does not. :).

hmmm...shortening lives...I'll have to try that one. BTW, I put Starlight Wishlist on today in the house and cranked up the volume. I havent' listened to that in years. I found myself crying because I was so moved at how beautiful some of those songs are. "Honey" and "Abandon All" really got me. Sometimes I miss those days. You guys were anointed!

So how did you spend it? Just kidding. That was so nice of them. You're a great example of how (realtively) large families can be somewhat orderly and peaceful, and always an awesome blessing.

We have had more than one experience in which some kind person paid for our entire meal when out with the children. It is such a blessing, and we have paid it forward when possible. It is even more fun to give than to receive!!!
